Best amp for MTX Thunder 9500

Hey i have an 03' Denali with a JL 500/1 going to it right now but it just doesnt seem to hit as hard as its made out too, any suggestions on amp choice or box choices? thanks

Whats the voicecoil config for it? Single or Dual, 2ohm or 4ohm?

I had a 12" 9500 pushed by a RF bd1501 @ 2 ohms and it pushed the sub to its mechanical limits and got loud!

That 500/1 is a nice amp, but you def need more for that sub.
