Best amp for 12" Polk SR????

Hey guys, I just bought a new Polk SR 12 Subwoofer Dual voice coil and 4OHM! What would power this the best im sorta on a budget so any one have any ideas wat would be a great match?

I just bought one of these myself and am just waiting to install it. THe guy I bought it from was using an Alpine PDX 1.1000 to power it. But he said it was overkill and he couldn't turn it past about 50% gain before the speaker started distorting. He said he thought the PDX-1.600 might be a better fit. BTW, those are about 1100 and 650 watts respectively real-world @14.4v. That said, having too much power is better than too little...just a question if it is worth the extra money, in this case a difference of at least 150-200$.

I am also looking at a Sundown SAE-1000d, which would be similar to the PDX-1.600.
