Best 10" Sub...

I finally decided on getting a set of DLS MS6 comps. Now I'm in the market for a sub. All this is going in a '93 MR2 (2 seater) so I think one 10" sub behind the passenger seat in a sealed enclosure will do just fine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I listen to rap, but I also listen to rock/metal so I'm gonna need a sub that will keep up with fast kicks. I dont wanna spend over $200, what do you guys recommend?

every on here will recomend a RE it sa good sub, u can go with a kicker, JL, or if u like Alpine all good other thenthat i think someother people will recommend other brands and models wish i could be more of help

You could look at an Sound splinter RL-i 10''. I have heard they are good drivers for the money and you could get it shipped to your door for under $200.00 What amp are you planning on using? You should also look at the Image dynamics drivers and the Arc drivers if you are looking for SQ.

sure there's TONS of choices, but what's the best for the money. Isn't the IDQ better than the IDv3? And I heard, for the price range, the JL's just can't keep up. And the Kicker L7... not really a SQ sub is it?

The L7 generally isn't considered an SQ sub...although given a perfect install, it can be used as one.

ive got 2 12" se's and they sound great.....get a 10 se sealed it should do nicely, or mayb somthin like an adire koda.....

Of those I listed, my personal top choices would the the Image Dynamics, the Soundsplinter, the OZ Audio and the Creative Sounds sub.

Actually, from the reviews I've seen by those with more experience and knowledge than myself...the IDv3 is a slightly better sub than the IDQv2. The IDv3 has more displacement (more Xmax, and hence more output), and slightly better SQ than the IDQv2. The IDQ series are supposed to be going through a redesign....but don't hold your breath for their release //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Keep up how? I listened to a 10w3v2 at my local dealer.....excellent sounding sub. Not the loudest, but sounded excellent. So, it all depends on your opinion of "keep up". For sheer output...sure, there are louder subs.

And the Kicker L7... not really a SQ sub is it?

Depends on who you talk to. I personally have yet to hear one that I preferred the sound of. However, they seem to have enough sound quality to satisfy most.

So, it all depends on your goal with this stereo. Output, SQL, or sound quality (which can still have decent output).

as a noob myself i was recommended the SE, have yet to hear it but I have heard that it is a good sub... I was also recommended the adire koda on some other forums and adire seems like a good choice as well...

i am ordering the SE in a few days...

i still think the infinity perfect 10 would be a good buy cause its under $100 on ebay and you can easily find them. needs about 500watts if its in a sealed box though. i dont have much experience with other subs yet. i do know that i am please with my infinity though. but if you not hard up for cash, there are better subs out there.

IMHO I think the OZ matrix are awesome subs for the price(140$ on ebay). I run 2 10s in my SQ setup. freakin awesome!
