I have dd 1508s and I heard cadence 8s and owned sa 8s. The sa 8s have a big motor but a paper thin cone the cadence 8s weren't that impressive love my dd 8s I beat 4 cvr 12s last week it was hillarious.

The DDs have, like many out there, the ability to get loud. They are however very bandwidth limited if a significant enclosure volume is not readily available. With the site-recommended 0.5-0.9 cubic feet, you won't be spanning an entire octave using any combination of port area/ port length @ even +/- 5dB. It's not alone there.....most "bigger" 8s act that way. If you have somewhere close to 1.25-1.75 total cubic feet available, the proper waveguide can likely be built to yield a one octave bandwidth @ +/-3dB or less. Even that is a blanket statement because of possibly geometry conflictions of that volume.
