I was told a long time ago that bass sweeps are bad for your subs how true is that?

Also how hard is dubstep on subs?

some dubstep can be hard on your subs especially if it drops below your box tuning and you're pushing enough power. bass sweeps shouldn't hurt subs unless you are pushing them to your limits (since test tones are typically -0dB)
