Bass Tube Makes a Thump sound

Whenever I turn my headlights on the basstube (subwoofer) makes a thump sound. I initially had the ground to a bolt, changed that to a sanded part of the chassis. Then I read this could cause a ground loop so I have an 8g wire from the battery running all the way to the bass tube in my trunk. Everything works properly and sounds nice, but whenever I turn on my headlights I still get that thump as if my car is surging power or something.

I have a 2006 Mazda 3 2.3L

A 6" Bazooka Bass Tube: Bazooka BTA6100 BT Series 6-Inch 100-Watt Amplified Tube Subwoofer

(I cant post the link)

And I have swapped out my speakers for 2 MB Quart in the front and 2 Orion in the rear.

The head unit is stock too.

The only other issue I can think of is that my battery might not be large enough to handle my upgrades but I didn't add anything too strong IMO. Or if when the headlights turn on they draw more power and cause the thud. But I am not 100% sure.

I don't know if this is bad practice but I used the RCA converter and spliced the rear audio wires from the head unit to the converter, then used the RCA cables that came with the wiring kit to connect to the bass tube.

The sound to get a better idea is just a quick thud the second the lights turn on.

running a ground to the battery was not needed.

You def DO NOT need a larger battery for your setup.

How does your Tube get its turn on signal? Is it auto sensing through the RCA's?

Does it have the ability to use a remote turn on wire?

What I would do if I really wanted to fix it (I prob wouldn't care to much) I would remove the remote wire and use a jumper from the power to the tube and run it to the remote turn on on the tube.

then turn the head lights on, I think you will find that the thud is no longer there. The Stock headunit is most likely bleeding power from the Ill circuit to the Power Ant Lead (blue wire)

If you do try that and it fixes you problem (which I believe it will) then run your tube remote turn on to any switched power wire in the car. Yes this will have the tube on any time the car is on but that really does not matter much.

Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe on the weekend when I have some free time I'll try this out.

I noticed in the past I had the bass tube grounded to a bolt but didnt realize the bold had paint of it. And I don't know if this could cause a problem but an electronic sensor broke on my car. Then I uninstalled the bass tube and half a year later I tried using it again. Not more than a week later my check engine light came on again and it was an electrical related problem. Do you think the poor grounding could have caused this?
