BASS BOOST and coax distortion...

As some of you know that have read my posts recently, I had a huge problem with my speakers! All I could here out of the tweets was distortion...it was a horrible sound...I actually hated listening to it!

I was told on here it was probably my HU amp going bad, sounded like a plausible explanation to me...so I went with it! With my spare time tonight(while working lol) I went out and messed around with my amp and noticed BASS BOOST was at 6. on my 2 channel A/B pioneer amp (380rms bridged @4ohm to 2 kicker CVR 12" DVC 4 ohm) the BASS BOOST goes 0/6/12. I don't know who put it on 6, but it wasn't me! Anyway, I just turned that off...my gain was at 3/4(using a volt meter to get as close as possible to clipping, then turned it down)

to make it a short story, turning BASS BOOST OFF cleared my speakers right up. I never had problems with the subs, they sounded fine the entire time. I dont' know why the speakers(running off the HU AMP) would get distortion...but I'm **** happy I figured that out! been 4 months since listening to clean music!

btw, just bought a Hifonics BXi1206D to hook up to the subs...going to use the pioneer (125wrms x 2) for the speakers...

Thank you to all that attempted to help me with this problem, I'm super happy AND tired right now lol. bass boost, underpowered A/B amps, and power hungry subs do not go well together lol.

...alright

it worked perfectly, absolutely clear all day today...

until, i went in to work about 4 hours ago. It was absolutely fine when I went in...when I came out, the whole ride home was distortion up the ***. I didn't change anything from the time I went in, to the time I came out!

So, I get in my car again about 2 hours after that...perfectly clear again. WTF? nothing is loose, amp gain is set at ~60% on a shitty amp, all wires are properly connected and in good condition

do you think the RCA's from the sub amp ---> HU might be of such bad quality that it interferes with my speakers? the rest of the wire in my kit is still fine, not even a blown fuse since the install(meaning i've never blown a fuse!)
