Bass amp cuts out when bass is hitting hard

Hi all, I just had subs installed in my car, 2 jbl cs1214 12's 250 watt rms, the amp is a memphis audio srx 1.500 ran with 4 gauge, when I play my system and the bass is hitting hard my amp will cut out and the light on the bass knob will fade or turn off, I'll have to either turn the volume on my headunit down or turn the bass knob down. I just installed a new battery, checked the ground and rca's, there connected well. I'm wondering if the amp is providing too much power for the subs then shutting off to avoid blowing the subs or my car electrical system can't keep up, I also have a alpine mrx-f35 hooked up.

How did you wire the subs? At 2 ohms? And how did you set your gain? Did you just turn it up all the way? You sure your grounds are good? And you dont have any loose wires

I checked all the connections, all are secure, the ground to the bass amp is secure and the paint is scraped. The bass amp has 2 channels, each channel is going to one sub, I'm not sure what ohm load that is. The gain is set half way.
