Barely any bass?

Finally got everything wired up and the bass seems real low (vol). I have done 0 tuning and def don't know where to start.

At this point I have 2 DVC 12" W6s wired to 2 channels on the 1000w amp. The amp is turning on and getting power. The woofers are moving just like they have like 10w going to them. Should I use the subsonic filter and LP pass? Also do I turn the gain up till it distorts then back it down?

Thanks

20 bucks says the subs are out of phase and cancelation is occuring. check the polarity.

it lamens terms, overall pos and neg are accidentally backwards on one of the subs causeing them to cancel each other out when they play. make sure it's installed right....

Solution was already found. The amp has a gain switch, for 0-1v or 1-8v. It was on 1-8 but needed to be on 0-8. I guess its based on the output of the headunit

From the PDX 1.1000 manual

Input Gain Adjustment Control

Set the PDX-1.1000 input gain to the minimum position.

Using a dynamic CD as a source, increase the head unit volume

until the output distorts.

Then, reduce the volume 1 step (or until the output is no longer

distorted). Now, increase the amplifier gain until the sound from

the speakers becomes distorted. Reduce the gain slightly so the

sound is no longer distorted to achieve the optimum gain setting.

Input gain adjustment range varies depending on the setting of

the input gain selector switch (see “9 Input Gain Selector Switch”)

Input Gain Selector Switch setting Adjustment Range

0.1V-1.0V 0.1V-1.0V

1.0V-8.0V 1.0V-8.0V

9 Input Gain Selector Switch

Set this switch according to the head unit’s output level.

Set to the “0.1V-1.0V” position when the output level of the head

unit is 0.1V-1.0V. Set to the “1.0V-8.0V” position when the output

level of the head unit is 1.0V-8.0V.

I'm a year late to this thread but here goes; I own a pdx-1.1000 and I've had a problem/confusion with the Gain input adjustment from day one. I went along with what the directions from the manual and adjusted the switch to 1-8v because my HU preamp output is 2 but have been getting crappy, if any, bass. The only time it actually hits hard is when I have it switched to 0-1v. I've tried both settings with a 10" W7, a 12" W7, 2 10" RF Punch, and I now have a 10" Eclipse TI. Why is it not working with the suggested instructions from the manual?
