A Bronx man murdered his mother and brother and butchered their bodies before using a shopping cart to dump them in the Harlem River, police said Monday.
Lamar Platt, 24, told police he shot his 45-year-old mom, Marlene, and younger brother Nashan at their University Ave. apartment in Morris Heights, the police said.
He then packed the evidence in black plastic bags weighed down with rocks and took six trips to the river near Roberto Clemente State Park, where he tossed the bags.
The killings came to the attention of police after the suspect's grandmother Elveda Wright, 63, who lives in Washington, told cops she had not heard from her family since Nov. 18.
Cops climbed through a window at the ground-floor apartment and found the aftermath of a bloody carnage about 5 p.m. Sunday.
"It was a slaughterhouse," a police source said of the scene. "There was blood everywhere."
Lamar Platt, who works in a barbershop near his home, arrived as cops were searching the apartment and was taken into custody, cops said. He was charged with murder.
Relatives in Washington declined to comment.
