Bad Trunk Rattling

I have 2 12 inch subwoofers in a ported box in the trunk of my 1996 oldsmobile ciera. Being an older car, there is alot of rattling in and around the trunk when the subwoofers are played. There seems to be alot of rattling in the tail light area and license plate. It sounds absolutely terrible when you're outside the car. Is there anything that will completely eliminate the rattling? I want to avoid using expensive sound dampening material such as dynamat. I don't care as much about sound quality improvement as I do getting rid of that annoying rattle. Is there anything I might be able to buy at home depot or something?

I would steer clear of P&S and products derived from it...

RAAMmat (http://www.raamaudio.com) is around $1.6 per square foot, should provide the deadening you need at the price you're looking for.

yeah you get use to it, i gave up on trunk rattle....

Trunk rattle does ****. My old olds cutlass rattled like a ***** when I had the subs facing back. I then built a custom enclousere with a port in the rear deck and it didnt rattle that much. More of a vibration.

I second the RAAMmat Idea. Back when mine rattled, I bought 62.5sq.ft. of RAAMmat for $70 plus shipping.

i put chewed gum behind the license plate and completley stopped the rattling there. i scoff the buggers who buy dynamate extreme license kits!

get some thick auto carpet and put it inside and around the trunk it doesnt completely stop the rattles but it helped out mine!

Peel and seal works fine (great actually). I've used it on 2 cars with no problems. But then again, I don't live in texas. For 12$ a roll, I don't see why not, plus you can get it locally, so no S&H.

I got rid of my rattles and vibreations by filling the inside of my trunk lid with expanding foam, and then covering it with 3 layers of peel and seal. No more rattles at all.
