First off, everything in my sig is what my system consists of. Ive had my system installed about a year now. About 6 months after everything was installed my sub began to cut out. It would stop pounding for about a week, then start working again. It did this off and on give or take a few days. Once in a while I would start the truck and it would work, stop some place and when I started it up again it wouldnt be working. At one point it stopped working for about a month then started again... You get the idea. Well This past friday I was on a road trip and about an hour into it, there was a loud pop and a whole bunch of smoke and a burning smell. I pulled over right away the the protect light was on the sub amp. Everytime it blinked, my lights would dim. My components were still working at this time. I disconnected the power wire from the amp and continued on listening to nothing but my mids and highs. Well I listened to my highs the rest of the way there (Corova Beach NC) Once I started driving on the sand I muted my radio so I could pay more attention to my surroundings and the people we were driving with. The radio stayed muted for a whole day as I didnt use the truck because I got nasty sick and didnt leave the house. One the way home, I didnt have highs. No clue whe the hell the problem is there BUT, I thought I had blown my sub amp, nope, it was the sub. I just went out and pulled the sub amp out and took a look inside, nothing burnt. Went and tried to push the sub in and shes locked up. Also, tried to start my truck just now, and I have no power what so ever. Not even enough for lights to come on. I had my gains set correctly, so the only thing I can think of is either one of the VC's took a crap or the amp some how screwed the driver up. I know this is alot but I figured I would cover all my bases trying to explain everything.
