well i bought an avionixx 440.4 thinking i could power my front speakers and my dvc 4 ohm sub with it, but i found out its not a good idea to run a sub like that. so is it stable at 2 ohms bridged? i got it without the manual and cant find it anywhere on the net so please help me out.

The majority of 4ch units are not stable lower then 4 Ohms when bridged. Not all of them, mind you, but the vast majority. I would assume (though I will admit to not knowing for certain) that a budget-minded unit like the Avionixx won't be stable @ 2 Ohms bridged.

well if i tried it at 2 ohms bridged and it wasnt stable wouldnt it just go into protect? that wouldnt really hurt the amp would it?
Having never seen in person much less used an Avionixx product I couldn't say with any degree of certainty but that would be my assumption....it would just throw it into protect and you'd have to turn the HU off then back on to reset it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
