AVI to DVD?

Lately been having issues burning some divx movies onto a DVD. I have been using Nero and I've used several different types of media, burning at 4x, and sometimes the audio goes out for a couple seconds, and once it did for the remained of the movie (about 30 minutes remaining).

I know it's not my computer because I don't run any other processes and it's a pretty beefy computer.

Just curious what program(s) you guys use and recommend.

I use Nero Express, WinAVI and AVI2DVD. Have you watched the movie on the computer to see if it's not the movie that is missing the audio? I had this problem with a few avi files.

Yep, watched the movie first on my computer and no problems. Burned onto DVD with Nero and it had the problem. Re-burned that portion of the movie again and it worked fine. Used Nero both times.

i had movies that started out fine, but as you move through the movie, the audio is not in sync with the video. it was the software in my case. i use vso divxtodvd, which is a free converter, then i burn with nero. if it's too big, i use dvd shrink.

Download a program called ConvertXtoDVD also made by VSO.

I've been using it for years with all types of video's with 0 issues.

Hmm, the audio sometimes is not in sync as well. I'm guessing maybe it's part of Nero's codec processing/converting. I'll toy with divxtodvd and avi2dvd. Trying to search for other programs as well, but those 2 and Nero, along with VSO are the primary ones I find.

yep thats the best I found too. a few types work better other ways but this is the best program if one person just wants one program to do it with. This program will sync that VBR audio unlike that crappy nero program. Nero IMO is not even worth having for free. I dont like the covertx2dvd burning but like to save the file then use IMGburn works better for me that way.

ive been using Roxio Toast on my mac, works like a champ for me.
but recently i bought a dvd player that plays divx files, so i just burn it as a data disc to save time rendering.
I gotta try that, I think teh DVD player my parents use plays divx files. Do you put em on a CD or DVD?

you can fit 699mb on a cd. I have done it before. just barely makes it , somtimes it ends up as 702mb and i am forced to waste a dvd //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif
