AV12 H Power and Sealed Enclosure recommendations...

I just ordered an AV12H. I stumbled across this sub over the weekend while forum trolling. When I saw the sub, the aluminum cone and what it is reported to do performance / SQ wise; I had to try one! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

So, I have an stealth install planned to use the spare well of a Lincoln LS for a 12in sealed enclosure. I will be running a JL HD750 for the sub.

1. Will the HD750 be enough for the AV12H? I've read that the AV12 should'nt be ran with over 1000watts ( I planned to upgrade to the HD1200 in January )

2. Is the AV12H ( the proper sub for a sealed enclosure ) I was'nt certain because what I've read said both X and H could be used either way..ported / sealed.

3. My spare well has approx 2.5 cu.ft of space. What is an ideal enclosure that will give 60%-SQ / 40%-SQL ( if there is such a thing) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

Thanks for your help!

1. 750 is fine. according to winisd there is a whole 1db difference between 750 and 1000 watts.

2. im fairly certain it will sound great either way. from AE's site: "The AV15-H has a 4 layer flat wire copper coil for high motor strength to fill the most demanding SPL applications."

3. 1 cubic foot looks nice. 1 cubic foot compared to 2.5 is a whole 1 db difference. so u can make it as big as u want, or 1cu ft 1.5 cu ft 2 cu ft. obviously the bigger the lower and/or louder.

*disclaimer for my buddy misfit*

All my info came from winisd and ae's website. i know nothing as i have no experience.

Cruzer, thanks for the feedback. I dont know anyone personally using the AV series, I've mostly seem the IB set ups using 15" AE's.

If I get my sub in time for the install I will let you know how it goes...If i dont get it an Ultimo is supposed to go in...( maybe temporarily)

I really want the AV12 though...we'll see!
