my boy is wantin to buy some subs...he has a dodge neon and he wants to get 2 15"s(not sure if it will fit in the trunk) has anyone heard the Audiopipe Eye Candy 15" subs? Ive never heard anything about em so im not gonna rag on em until i hear somethin about em...I told em to go with RE //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif but he is tryin to keep the spending to a minimum

i dont know which audiopoop is the eye candy but my brother got a pair of the best subs they had (aluminum cone) to his shop, and within 2 days the cone had separated from the VC. not well made at all.

Back when i was in high school, i would do installs for fellow football teamates, All they would buy is audiopipe, because they came in many colors. But in every install i used audiopipes in The Cone would become detached just like analogkid mentioned and prior to that they souned horrible, Audiopipe subs are worthless.

hes gonna get a lot of cancellation. im sure they will take up most of the trunk and end up firing into the trunk lid like 3 inches away of theyre ported.. go for 2 12s or a single 15 itll be much better. how much money DOES he have to spend?

audiopipe eye candy sucks....i think the 15's are rated above 1000w....doubt it....they dont give the bang that they say it gives...an aquaintance of mine bought a 15" blue eye candy for his Prado...not to say the sub isnt good...but it isnt loud...its a starters sub as i would say...and yep...the VC separates from the aluminium cone...if you solder or glue the cone down then maybe you can have a reasonable sub...but not for loudness or sound quality

there was a technician who bought 2 of the eye candy 12"s...he removed all the soft parts and re coned it with a combination of parts...and he wound his own coil and used a 15" cone that he cut to fit the 12"...something about the cone he got not fitting...anyways...its a good sub if you're planning on doing what he did...but he did it for fun and uses the 12"s for midbass now...

the older audiopipes...not with the aluminium cones would go a little good in a sealed box for starters

At a local dealer I heard a higher end Audiopipe 12 put in direct competition against an Infinity Kappa 12. Roughly 1 cube sealed, 250 watts RMS , and the same vehicle. In EVERY aspect of a woofer, the Infinity wiped the floor with that Audiopipe before handing it back it's *** on a platter, and then pole vent raping it.

If he wants Audiopipe, Infinity subs will outperform it by a league and they aren't really expensive. IA subs get insane loud for cheap, as well. And there's always the ever proven RE subwoofers mentioned. Tell him to do some homework.

I heard one setup with two of the big 12" Volfenhags with the PHAT surround (back when it was the thang!) and they pounded wang. Of course it was an oversized box tuned at 40 hz and they were most definitely unloading at the same time, but **** did they pound.
