Audiophile and otherwise amazing tracks that you need

I just got my IASCA Reference CD in the mail //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif It's a great CD for testing out your system....especially since the booklet includes maps of where all the instruments should be located //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

where'd ya get that brad?

Pretty nice. It's got a track for phase, a couple of tracks with voices/drums for imaging, plus the actual sound tracks for staging & imaging & tonality, plus some sine sweeps that'll rattle your teeth (for those days you feel like seeing what you can do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif )

Autosound2k has some nice test discs much like these also. Don't know if they come with the nifty little map layouts though.

However, I just realized yesterday that I have some bunching at each end of my soundstage (in my car) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

w00t thanx squeak, just bought the cd...$7 shipping for a fricken cd?

FWIW, they ship quickly //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif Got mine in only a couple days.

But be careful.....once you listen to the Pink Panther theme song, it's almost impossible to get back out of your head //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif :(

lol cant wait. is that song like some crazy SQ song or something?

Amazingly; yes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif It actually sounds pretty cool in my car.....but then I walked around for the next 2 hours humming it......

haha i better not listen to it then. any progress on your car? summer's coming //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I feel your pain brother squeak. That has to be the single hardest thing to correct in car audio is the "soundstage". Sure its not too hard to raise it up or push it back but if you have bunching, its not as easy as turning a knob or moving a tweeter. I still don't have a clue what I'm going to do. My bunching is on the left (drivers) side of the stage. I thought time alignment would fix this (though it did help alot) but not totally. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

any steely dan sounds amazing, dire straits is awesome too, although many of their recordings are very quiet (especially money for nothing album)

if you want to hear your speakers scream put in "Crossfire" by Stevie Ray, or go for "couldn't stand the weather" the snare in that song will blow you away.

Sound deadened some more //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif I seriously need to start working on it......haven't found the time yet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif However, I still have ~3 weeks vacation to use up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I know, I hate it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif The middle 3 drum beats sound excellent and are spaced nicely. But the two at each end come from the exact same place. No separation at all between them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif
