Audiobahn

Hey guys

i am getting 2 10" audiobahn aluminum Q series subwoofers.....has anybody had any experience with these? I was told they hit hard......i figure they're 800 watts rms so they should hit pretty hard...

Good subs but people here on caraudio will just tell you that Audiobahn sucks...I have personally never had a bad experience with Audiobahn

got a set of the 12's sitting in my closet, They are actually really loud, but the SQ is far from desireable.

I have owned many Audiobahn products, amps and subs, and have had problems... Their subwoofers dont give you much trouble, but the amps are pretty unstable. The AlumQ's will get loud for you, but they arent much for SQ (which is why most say Audiobahn sucks, because their speakers lack SQ.) There are some problems with the subs being that some say they cant handle their rated RMS power; I have never had a problem with a blown Audiobahn though.

If you make/buy the right box (do not buy a box from a store or online, make one yourself or have it done for you) then they can sound good and should get loud, depending on power.

And by the way, wattage has nothing to do with how loud a speaker will actually get....

How much are you paying for these? There are better choices out there...

Typically, Audiobahn is not built as well as your RE, SS, JL, ect... Thermally, I don't think that they can handle being pushed at their rated power for an extended period of time.

If you want a SQ sub then AB's are not for you, but if you want subs that can get loud and boomy with a touch of bling, then AB's are fine. But IMO, you can buy better for the money.

I used to run the Alum 10.

I only had one and ran it in a 2.5 ported box. Slammed for a 10. and great price like 60 bucks for it man. not bad.

The alum is not bad at all. go for it and work ur way up.

my buddy ran 2 15" alumq's in an suv. he had them ported i believe and was built to specs from a pro off ebay. box was locally picked up.

he had it running with a little over 1000rms (audiobahn high current amp) and the SQ isnt the great. it did get insanely loud and spl was no problem for him. IMO, the SQ comming from my 2 12" kicker l7's in a prefab ebay ported box has better SQ than his 2 15" alumq's with a box built to spec.

All of the experience I've had with audiobahn is bad. Everything from torn surrounds, fried coils, lack of sound quality, and overrated numbers. The customer service from Audiobahn is a nightmare. Perhaps I'm the odd man out, who knows, I still think Audiobahn sucks.
