Attention 2004 1/2-2006 F-150 4.6L Owners

I just bought an 06 F-150 a few months ago and the gas mileage SUCKS!I have added a Magnaflow exhaust,Airaid intake system and the throttle body spacer and im still getting 12-13 MPG average.I have about 3,200 miles on it right now.Does it get better or should I SELL IT and buy a Chevy truck.My G/F dad has an 06 Silverado 4.8L and it gets 18 MPG average off the lot //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif .I know that the 07 has fuel management when you get the bigger motor.Im really considering selling it right now but I really want to know if it gets better because I really like everything else about it.Thank in advance

Also I have a 06 expo with just a K&N drop in and get decent gas mileage, it also has the 5.4L 300hp

It does add up.I have a 27 gallon tank.5X27=135 EXTRA miles //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I also think that the 06 5.4L motor has 3 valves per cylinder mine is only 2(better technology)in yours.

Sounds like you are beating the shit out of it.. If you race around all day gunning it then you are going to get shit for gas milage. My dads expo gets like 13-15 when I drive around with him and most of the time I am driving it says 10ish mpg so I think if you lay off the throttle a little.

You should be getting a lot better than 12-13mpg, did not look it up but my guess would be 17-19mpg with 'conservative' driving.

Both of my parents have that truck and they get on averrage 17-18.5 mpg

I dont know, but I would not sell the truck to get a chevy for 5 more mpg. That would just be retarded! Plus Fords>Chevy especially in the truck department.
