Assistant College Swim Coach?

So I swam competitively for about 13 years, then coached club for 2-3 years. This last week and a half I come up to watch my buddy swim in his conference meet in NH, and after leaving the meet tonight, the head coach thanked me for helping out all week and told me he'd like for me to come up and coach with him. (I live in Florida). It's a D3 school, but they have some pretty impressive records. They actually have 2 or 3 swimmers who are swimming World Champs in open water swims.

Obviously I was pretty surprised, but I turned it down since it's a bit of a life change. Too much good goin on back home..

Why's this always happen when I have things going on back at home?!(school, work, lady, family..)

i would have taken it, i coach wrestling and there isn't much here in LA but I know the wife would move if I could get a college job

Yea.. I told him Id keep it in mind.. I'm still a pretty young chillen and trying to finish up college myself. Also already an assistant instructor for a martial arts school. Maybe a year or 2..

Swim coach? sounds almost as pointless as a walking coach for mermaids.

U.S. Men's Beach Volleyball wasn't bad this year.

I'm not downing any other sports' performances.. I'm talking more as far as medal count goes, since its obviously a high priority to beat china. Lol. Without like 20-30 medals(roughly) from swimming, we wouldn't be close.
