(get it....cause you said that to me in another thread....it's funny)

lol u guys are nuts i went on a rant that wasnt even needed man i asked why 8's? lol baahhhh req is gonna find out first hand about ups up front lol itll be sweet and youll think it is all the time but get p'o'ed when he hears another car with small mid basses almost doing what yours are (not at extreme levels though) and you will be as mad as i was lol

Wow, this thread is just all over the place..

Nice vid, can't wait to see them released and hear what people think of them. With all the 8" options these days, I'm thinking about running 4 of them rather than getting a different 15". //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

and what midbass would you recommend?

youve not said a **** thing like that before. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

i want to get super loud and super clear. i figured the kodas would be insane midbass and the horns would fill in the rest while the av15 would kill the lows (2.2cubes sealed on ~1000w)

care to elaborate on this '5.25' bit?

i think he's talking about 8" mids and not 8" subs

He is talking about some AVI midbasses //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Anyways, I think he's just trying to get the point across that you don't have to use big drivers. With a proper setup, you can get good output out of smaller drivers aswell.

However....that's not nearly as fun //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/satan.gif.9c6a335ed7aeeed3ee273e573f1fcaac.gif Hence why the 10's are going in my car this summer (and probably with audiolife's help...LOL)

Oh, you know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

lol you guys give freaking wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy tooooooooooo much credit to the equipment. all the figures in the world on paper dont mean crap until its applied. last i knew car audio was an applied science... and yes i did make mention to smaller drivers . i remember telling you that its always better to leave room to give a smaller driver what it needs vs cramming something into a tight space. now am i saying your kodas arent good? no im not but you have to ask yourself this (only you know you are puting them in not me) are the kodas being given optimum space in which to work? if you answer yes then ill hush. if you say "so so" then you might be in for some fun. now am i saying the smaller speakers will get as loud? no but if they are optimized they should sound richer and fuller than you think plus sound more natural. my idq 8's were in .7 cft sealed (trying to remember) i ended up opening up the top of the enclosure and stuffing it full of fiber fill. made for less snap but it did everything else better. sorry if this seems off topic but i think its a good idea to get a grasp on how to approach building a system. i know some always switch but alot of you guys want to build something that will last and you will enjoy for a few years anyway.....and squeak do they recomend ib for those 10s or a specific enclosure?

well i planned on giving them what was recommended by adire. ~.35ft sealed and 150w.

if i get the door crank kit this week, ill have plenty of room to apply that.

LMAO...
Looks like they JUST MIGHT have borrowed a bit from the CSS 4.5 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Eh...not really. By appearances alone it looks far more like an Extremis than a CSS. The exact same basket, looks like the same surround, different suspension for sure, and the motor looks to be very similar, although the internals of the motor could be dramatically different.

Nontheless, by appearances alone, it looks a lot more like the extremis:

i dont. i think the CF is sexy.

but the RLi-8 is a better woofer from the looks of it. but the atlas8 looks like it would be a stronger midbass driver.

and the rli8 can take 500w //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
