No, not to car audio.

Caffiene is the subject at hand! My friend Mary is an honest-to-God caffiene addict. Her day revolves around it. It's hard to find her without a Coke Zero Cherry, a cup of coffee, or any other caffienated beverage. Some friends and I challenged her to give up caffiene for the week- to go from Monday morning to Friday afternoon with zero caffiene. She agreed under the terms that at the end of the week, her friends pay for lunch Friday, and she gets to have a Coke.

Just for giggles, I decided I'd do the challenge with her- no caffiene this week. I am not a self-aware caffiene addict, whereas my friend Mary acknowledges her addiction. Here are the results:

Monday: Mary is a wreck. She is shaking, has a bad headache, and is wiped out, dead tired. She sleeps through her two o'clock class. She is too tired to be an angry caffieneless caffiene addict. I, on the other hand, am a hair droopy in the morning, as usual, and perk up later in the day.

Tuesday: She comes to me, and says "I opened my fridge, and my two Frappuccinos were staring at me, saying 'Drink me! Drink me!" She was strong, though. She's got the will to do it despite her pain. She still has a throbbing headache, and the shakes. I am still unfazed.

Wednesday: She has overcome temptation and is determined. Her headache is beginning to subside, and the shaking is pretty much gone. She is still droopy, but not as much as before. Snappiness has developed... don't tick her off unless you want an earfull. I got a killer headache Wednesday night, but I think that was because I couldn't sleep Tuesday night, and I get headaches when I'm tired.

Thursday: She can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Her headache and shaking have subsided, and she's finally becoming friendly. I'm not feeling a thing.

So this begs a question: Are you a slave to the master known as caffiene?

I used to be a slave for Dr. Pepper! Now I only drink water and milk //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

lol. i smoke rocks....

not much of a caffine guy myself. every now and again ill resort to some coffee if im really sleepy and need a lil jolt. but for the most part i stay away from it. i get kinda cracked out if i drink alot of coffee and come down. that normal? i'm not a big coffee guy...

Its all mental. She only wants it because she is thinking about it. If she was not on a bet but didnt have time to drink it she would have no physical or mental problem about it. However, i do believe the statement, "too much of anything makes you an addict," but only because it become part of your normal routine.. like a habit. But there is no physical connection or "need" for it.

600 milligrams of caffeine (3 Vivarin type tablets) when I wake up, one or two more later in the day as a booster shot.

Been doing that since I worked rotating shifts in a glass factory back in the early 80's.

Nope, Im not addicted........
