Anywhere from 1200 - 2000 watts will make them move. I run a pair of the previous generation. For the price, they are hard to beat.

So if i get 2 alpine type r's with 500 rms each, and a hifonics bxi 1606d amp tied in to both subs, how many rms will the amp be putting out total to both subs? I ask b/c it says 1600 @1ohms and 1100 @2ohms. What is the difference and how do i make sure it is using 2 ohms? THX

depends on if you get dual 2 or 4 ohm R's

if you get dual 4 ohm R's you can wire the amp in parallel to make it a 1 ohm load that the amp see's. If you get the dual 2 ohm R's. You can wire to .5 ohm (which I dont recommend daily) or 2 ohms. I would go with the dual 4 ohm woofers and set your gains accordingly.
