So over the past 2 days, my Arc Audio XDi 1200.6 has gone into protect mode (Code 14 - Over Voltage - Alternator Overcharging) 4 times. It happens when I accelerate from a low speed but also happened once while parked and another while cruising on the highway. Anyone experience this? Leaving it with my audio guy next week while im in the Bahamas so he can get it all fixed but wondering if anyone here knows anything about this. Im assuming I need a new alternator, but not sure.
I drive a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT with a stock 220 amp alternator.
1 Arc Audio PS8 with PSC controller
1 Arc Audio XDi 1200.6 to power my front stage (all active Hertz Mille components, 4 ohms per speaker)
2 Arc Audio XDi 1100.1 (running at 1 ohm each) to power
2 Audio Frog GB12D2s
Only the XDi 1200.6 goes into protect mode, both 1100.1s are fine.
Assuming there is a general consensus of what causes a "Overcharging Alternator", any one have any thoughts?
Thanks guys.
