Arc Audio 1500xxk/cxl 1 ohm?

Hi, I have a Arc 1500cxl. I have been running it at 4 ohms, but recently got a sweet deal on a pair of 12" OZ Matrix Elites. They are each dual-2ohm. However the actual ohms are slightly less (measured with a DMM). I wired them in series/parallel and measured the final load to 1.7ohms. The "enhanced 1 ohm mode" light switched on my amp. I was just wondering what does Arc mean by "enhanced 1 ohm mode?" Is it just a regulator? Thanks

hmmm i dunno but i believe the cxl is a class a/b amp and not too many class a/b are 1 ohm stable to mono, actually i don't think any class a/b amps are stable down to 1 ohm mono. the only amp that comes into mind is a dls A3. i would email arc to be sure though.

The cxl/xxk1500D are class T's, and are 2ohm/1ohm mono stable

well then it should work. lol.
Just fyi...Arc released a late year '05 version on the xxk1500 (dubbed the v1). Its basically a mono class a/b 1/2 ohm stable version of the xxk2500(2ch a/b). Arc is no longer working with Tripath, and have removed all their class D and T's from future lineup.
