Just wondering if anyone has ever ran their 2200 @ .5 daily and if so did you have any problems? I have 2 pretty good batteries in the back and my voltage stays around 13v at full tilt but it has come to my attention that I'm running a serious risk by not having my voltage above 14v.

from what i read the 1200 and the 2200 are fine at 12.5V+ @ .5ohms, i found quite a bit via google of ppl running the 2200s at .5

but if u drop em below 12.5 there toast

ran mine on a dc xl 15@.5 with one opti g31 and no big three. stayed 12.5 up. With that voltage you should be good. Just monitor after some heavy playing. will do work though @.5

Good to know. Even without the engine rev'd my batteries (or battery rather, I have 1 of 2 C&D's installed right now) my voltage stays in the high 12's. Honestly I don't listen to my system full tilt for long enough periods to drain the batteries that much either. I usually listen to a song full tilt, then the next one I'll play it at a lower volume.

Yeah it is a lot louder. Between dropping down to .5 and raising my tuning a few Hz I've gained an easy 3dB (at least by ear).

God dayum deebeez yo. The box I'm using doesn't even fit right lol it's too wide, I had to put it in length wise so now the port is firing off to the side of the car. Once I get a new box made for this that fires to the back it should be even nastier.

I wouldn't say that really. Each and every application is different. I have seen several 2200's and 1200s fail when ran at .5 ohm with over 12.5 volts. There is much more to it then just current draw as well.

Personally and from a company(meaning when I was at AQ..and still now) stand point, I do not recommend it for daily what so ever.(even if you do have a great alt and a ton of batteries)

PS- Shouldn't you (the OP) be changing my logo right about now? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/sneaky.gif.7189749b3a3f769e8815b47e8ae87f88.gif

The boards might be a bit similar but that 2.0k will bend my 2200 over a desk lol
ran that aq@.5 and will be running my aq@1 once installed. Will let yall know how she performs. You really think the dc will blow past the aq though?

I wouldnt doubt it. I consider DC, DD, and sundown amps all to be on the same level. AQ makes good amps but for top quality they aren't first contenders
