AQ HDC3 and 3500d

I have several questions, so I guess I'll just ask.

I have about 4.5^3 feet to work with in the back of my 08 scion xb. I have a box from a previous set up that I would like to repurpose for this build. It's 4.5^3 with about 72" of port area. I believe it's tuned to 33hrz. If I need to build something different it's no big deal.

I'd like to run 2 12's

AQ is having a special this moth with 2 HDC12's and a 3500d

Do I have enough space to run these two subs?

If so, should I bother with the aluminum coils?

Additionally, while I'm asking questions, how many additional batteries will I need to run?

I have an optima yellow top up front and the big three will be done before this install.

I'm looking for a daily all around set up. Nothing spectacular. My previous set up envolved 2 12"type r's on about 1200 watts. I'm assuming this will be an improvement.

Also, I am still in the planning stages of this next build, but am getting close. I am open to all other suggestions. sub/amp

Thanks for all of the help gentlemen

Your volume is good for those subs. they would like a higher tuning but I've had my dd 2512as tuned at 33hz and they just killed the lows. So ya that box will work as long as it is built good and braced. and in the future if you want to build another box do it 4.5 at like 38hz with 85 square inches of port area.

That sounds pretty good actually...i have aq goodies in my car (check the sig)...however i did have some trouble with my hdc3s just recently.... they blew up on me after 14 months of heavy knocking and the amp i have isnt as powerful as the new one.... but 14 months of overpowering your woofers by 70% is pretty amazing... and i would recommend 2 more batteries and a high output alternator...good luck

how much power you running to your HDC's to blow them?

I have 2 3500's on each for daily and they do just fine....

It doesn't appear that DC Power makes an alt for my car. Can anyone suggest some alternates? My googling isn't turning anything up

well what i suppose it was only 1750 but i will admit i always turned it up to 30/34 on my hu which clipped the signal like a son of a gun

Sorry to rehash an older thread but I'm still working on all of my plans.

Do you guys think my plans may be overkill? I know that's a dumb question around here but for daily would a 15" on 2500watts work better?

I have no experience with 15's so I guess I'm asking for opinions. I'd like to keep this thread going for a little while longer as I learn a ton reading responses.

I'd still be doing an alt upgrade and a bat in the back

Thanks
