Well seeing how it's 500 @ 4 ohm and 2200 @ 1 ohm, I'd say it's a safe bet that it does ~1000 @ 2 ohm

you can always keep the gain turned down on the amp itself, just don't turn your head unit to 45/45 volume for example and clip it to shit. Just use common sense and you are fine. You are better off getting a bigger amp NOW so you have room for upgrades in the future which you wold have with the aq2200d as you can run it at 1ohm later on the subs you desire.

Remember you can have a 3500rms amp and set the gain down to 1500rms (for example or lower if you wanted) and it is perfectly fine. Just use a dmm and set the gain to the power you want..
