I know i know, go get the model # then ask. Its an hour trip, and i'm trying to decide if it's worth the trip before I go.

Story- Local pawn shop has had 2 US Amps in the display case since last xmas. Look at them every time i'm there, but never had the $$ to consider them, and now i've got the spare cash. I have never been able to see the actual model number, but I searched online to try to find it. They're asking $300 for both, and I'd get them a lot cheaper if I trade in some junk i've got sitting around. Probably end up selling one off.

I believe they're either the 100HC http://ampguts.realmofexcursion.com/USAmps_USA-100HC_(Old)/, the VL400 http://ampguts.realmofexcursion.com/USAmps_VL-400/, or the USA-400 http://ampguts.realmofexcursion.com/USAmps_USA-400_(1999)/. They're 100% that style, between 2-3foot long each.

So, what's the approximate value of the older line? All I could find on flea-bay was the massive 7k watt one, a huge 4k watt one, and the new line. Looks like they fetch $150 or more a piece, the new ones do, and from what i've read they're not up to par with the older ones. The two I found were no comparison, they were BEASTS.

thanks, I know I should have gotten the model #, but things are hectic now that the holiday is coming, and I don't want to deal with the traffic if I can avoid it. May try to call up tomorrow and get the model number.

Looks liek I've gotta drive to the store and find out the **** model. Hopefully they've got a phone number and can tell me that way.

Never took pics, I thought it'd look kind of weird to be in a pawn shop and pull out my $400 digital to snap pics of shit in a case:laugh:

Not looking for a # set in stone, just a VERY approximate estimate to see if it's even worth my troubles. I'd end up keeping one and re-selling the other, most likely.

thanks

nice amps there i would jump on it.
that's what i've thought every time I see them. I looked like //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif when I realized how long they've been there at that price. I'm not gonna make it today, got to run to the mall for christmas gift hunting, but i'm going first thing after school tomorrow.

thanks for the input guys.

procrastination is a thief of time;)

Ok, went back today, and the money is burning a hole in my pocket. Looks like they raised the price to $325:confused: Owell. They're US Amps USA400's in a semigloss black. Include the original instruction manual. From searching, I found a candy red one for $390 http://cgi.ebay.com/Rare-US-AMPS-USA-400-n-Hard-Candy-Red-Must-See-Mint_W0QQitemZ300174889115QQihZ020QQcategoryZ39732QQcmdZViewItem and a USA200 for $160 http://cgi.ebay.com/US-Amps-USA-200-old-school-520-Watts-RMS-Clean-power_W0QQitemZ320187302610QQihZ011QQcategoryZ39732QQcmdZViewItem

So, would I be able to get $200+ for each? It's looking like i'm going back tomorrow, if I get another confirm it's a good buy.

Sorry for being slow, don't know sh** about older amp value. From what you've all said, i'm gonna jump on it. I figure one more day of sitting on it won't hurt since they've been there since last December.

thanks again guys

Ha, they raised the price when they didn't sell?? Guess they've been there so long that they are growing in value as antiques //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Seems like a great deal and I would jump on it... I would also talk them back down to 300, or even lower if you are a good negotiator.

yeah, makes a lot of sense huh? Definetely going to question that when I go and buy them today. I'd think you'd DROP the price if something hasn't sold for a year:rolleyes:

The car audio guru who worked there left, so nobody knows s*** about audio there anymore.

So there's 2 of the SA-400's? If so I may buy them when you get them.
Yep. May keep one, depending on what I can get for one, or what I can for both. Going to pick them up today. I'll post up some pictures, feel free to shoot me an offer. Would you have to have both, or would only one suffice?

thanks
