How can this be unlocked for ATT if Verizon isnt a sim card service?

because the new blackberry are world phones. they have sim cards in the back that say vodafone/verizon so that if you go out of the country you can use a sim card from another carrier. if you tell verizon that you are going out of the country you can ask them for an unlock code and they willgive it to you for free or you can just simply buy one and do it remotely. understand?
