I am trying to find out the resonant frequency of my 2002 honda civic 4 door or a rough estimate of it. For maximum spl, i would want to build a box that peaks at this frequency correct? right now i have a design for a 18" mt that is 4.5 tuned to 37hz with 81 in. of port area. but i cannot find the ts specs on the sub anywhere //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

It can really change from car to car, so you need to try and find what is best FOR YOU and work with it. Personally, I hit my loudest around 50hz, but I have a coupe.

if i could find the ts specs on a mt 18" i could find out what this box peaks at. i believe it will peak right around 47hz, so it should be about perfect if you were having good luck with 46hz. thanks for the info

what are you hitting on the term lab with your set-up? i have seen you on the 7thgen boards for a while, i have been a member over there for 3 years. you still have the ho alt. kits available? (i think it was you with the kits?)

Building an aeroport box and adjust the port length:)
won't work in my situation, 6 cube box in a civic doesn't come in and out easily without getting damged. couldn't change them in the car b/c port is firing to side and i wouldn't be ab le to slide them out

My setup is entirely SQ, I haven't done any SPL in about 2 years. I'm probably about 140dB, I might put it on the mic sometime just for shits and giggles. The highest I ever hit was like 141.4, at my very first show.

And yes, we still have, and always will have the HO alt kits available. We have more than enough parts in stock to build them that we won't run out any time soon //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

soon, i may be able to buy an h.o alt hopefully, probably your kit, seems alot more reliable than a rewound stock casing

Absolutely //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Our alts are 100% brand new components, all high quality and assembled by hand. The alternator casing itself is also larger than the stock Honda casing, so it will put out far more current than a rewound alt.
