Anybody play the harmonica?

if so, how long have you been playing, how do you practice? what key is your harmonica in? i bought a decent one(not a 2 dollar piece of garbage) and a book to teach you, but i feel like there's better ways to learn than this book....

I play the kazoo, it's a little tricky but once you figure it out the music is beautiful.

go up to guitar center, they will point u in the right direction. seriosuly they dont jus do guitars.

that's where i bought it, but none of them had any experience, they just pointed me to the books...

i even tried looking for some classes, at instrument schools but nobody was much help.

i should just take a vactation to new orleans for a week or something, and pay a bum like 100 dollars to chill with me all week and teach me everything he knows.

I play. Have been playing since I was 7 years old. I own 2 Hohners (both in key of C) One is the Chromatic (Super Chromonica)

I learned to play on a fluke. I was goofin' around and my dad interrupted me and said: "...you just played a few bars of a famous song!...do that again!"

So I did, and voila! I was playing a song. Once I understood the breathing techique associated with playing the instrument, my dad explained to me how to use my tongue and add accompaniment to a song. Then came the glass //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif and soon I was getting a chromatic model (which back in the day was VERY expensive)

I wish there was a easy way for me to explain how to quicker learn to play. Practice is all i can suggest.
