I've played for about 15 years. I have an old Ibanez rg760 (what steve vai used before they made the gem) and a tech21 120 watt amp. Used to have a 5150 stack but it became to hard to move around in my old car, so now i only have 2 12's, but still plenty loud. I mostly play stuff like avenged sevenfold, killswitch engage, tool, or just play around, but usually in that style with lots of pinch harmonics.

OP, learn house of the rising sun. It will help you learn chords quickly.

Since you play KS im guessing you're dropped down to C...How hard is it to Tune and intonate a FR guitar?...I heard it's a hassle

I noticed that too. It's nice to just sit down and play a couple songs. I just bought a fender strat and have been playing it basically since I bought it lol

Big time hassle. I haven't played many of their songs along with the albums since I got rid of my fixed bridge guitar. When tuning the floating bridge from E to drop D, every string needs a bit of an adjustment. I used to change tunings on it fairly often to try to play along with other stuff, but it really is a hassle. If it is just the odd c chord, i will play everything 2 frets down and do a c on the A string 3rd fret, with the 5th fret of the drop D pressed. It gets it close. But as i said, i dont really play along with their stuff, which is frustrating, but most things I play are in D so I stick with that.

I usually use heavy bottom, light top. Something in the range of 10-52 or 56
