Anybody here been diagnosed with high blood pressure?

I've known for quite a while that I have high blood pressure, and a hightened heart rate, even at rest. I haven't gotten on anything yet, possibly Atenolol. Just curious if anybody else is on prescription meds for it and what you do to manage it?

mine is borderline high, still in the normal range, but its on the high end of normal. best thing to do is change your diet and start working out. dont rely on meds if u can help it

I've got low blood pressure which isn't any better, I get dizzy alot and my hands get cold all the time due to the low circulation.... x2 on the dieting and working out, it helps alot

deffinently dont rely on the meds most of them are bad for u in the long run. there are many simple things that can help like drinking cranberry juice and eating grapes. also working out will help.

i think i'm on the high end of "normal" also (as stated above)

i've been trying to eat healthier and excersize. with any luck i'll keep it up long enough to notice an improvement. i'm also trying to lose weight. get down to AROUND where i was in high school 5 years ago. i've already lost about 8, need to lose about 20 more lol. long way off i suppose

It's in the family, but I have the lowest in the family (like 105/60 ish). I do cardio 5x a week tho.

I definetly need to start exercising again. I'm pretty skinny, 6'0" 160'ish. I played sports in high school, used to play baseball 7 days a week during bb season, basketball 7 days a week during bkb season, etc... It's just been these past 2 years in college that I haven't done much exercising at all.

Maybe I should get myself going on a little cardio routine 2x-3x per week. Hell I know it would help cope with stress and give me a nice little break from studying. Good call on the water thing too, I really don't drink enough water, mostly ice tea, juices and sobe's.
