Anybody have experience with JBL and JL? Advice needed

Hi,

I'm brand new to this forum. I've been looking at amps for a while, and I found a couple that I like. I'll be powering two 10" Infinity Kappa Perfect subs, each rated at 300 watts RMS. I've been looking at the JBL GTO1201.1 ii amp and the JL audio 1000/1 amp. I won't be entering any SPL or SQ contests, rather I'm just looking for an amp to power my car's system for daily use. Are these amps good relative to other brands? Is the JL worth spending the extra 200-300 dollars?

Either of them are very good amps. What it is the VC config of your subs?That will have a lot to do with whether or not you get the jbl amp. The jl will give out 1k at 4-1.5 ohms and at 12.5v-14.4v.

The subs are single voice coil. I think the JBL puts out 784 watts RMS at 4 ohms, which I think I would need to run the subs at. The JL puts out 1000 at all resistances.

hey man i had the jl 1000/1 i never installed it but i knew the guy i bought it from. the jl puts out clean power, but it is pretty expensive. imo you could get just as good a quality of an amp for lesser $$$
