any way to improve gas mileage?

you could use PC-based software like CROME to flash your own EEPROM. by doing this, you edit the functions of your car's computer. basically you can program your ECU's chip so that it turns on the injectors for a specified amount of nanoseconds or milliseconds. but then you've gotta know what youre doing..

**** you all. its 2.67 here and getting higher.
I feel your pain. You and your GN ... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

somethings wrong here. i was getting 27-30 mpg with my 3.1 in my grand prix. hell i get 20 mpg in my jeep with a 4.0
My 3100 in my beretta gets about 16mpg....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

For better gas mileage just put a egg under the gas pedle. LOL
X2: Pretending you have an egg under the gas pedal can improve your milage by like 12%. If you press the gas too hard, you get icky egg stuff all over your kickpanels.

The intake twisters "work" by creating turbulence in the intake header, which in turn distributes the gas/air mixture more evenly, resulting it a more even fuel distribution between pistons. This results in about 3 HP and 3 MPG, but only if your car is old enough. Newer vehicles have enough turbulence in the header to do this anyway.

I have one in my Taurus. It's a 92. The difference is neglegible. There is no miracle part you can add on top of everything else to improve milage. You have to improve on what's already there. Intake, headers, exhaust, sensors, and the driver.

rofl.

Nice formula Jmac, just kind of proves mathmatically what should be obvious to most... Interesting though.

It'll be fun once I install my MBC in my car... Will only be able to use 93 octane... go me! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

hate when that happens..

But seriously.... Knocking *****. It kills Volvo b230 engines like no other... Always takes out the connecting rods. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

You obviously drive a newer vehicle, and don't live in the mountains //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If I did that, I wouldn't make it up half the hills I drive over.

That's because the fuel is combusting before the cylinder hits its peak during the compression cycle, putting serious stress on the connecting rods, pistons, crankshaft, etc. ...

I'm aware of what knocking is and what it does, still doesn't change the fact that high boost + any knocking on stock Volvo b230 internals = bent/shot out of block rods, shattered pistons/ring lands/etc...

im thinkin im just gonna get a small car here in the future //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif i love the truck but..gas here is 2.25 for midgrade..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif alot for me...i live out in the hill country in texas..so i get worse gas mileage go up those **** hills..but i just coast 90% of the time on residential road..**** the cars behind me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
