if you really need work then you should take what you can. im tired of people *****ing that they cant get a job, but walmart has now hiring signs all over. they say they are overqualified for it. O really? youre not too overqualified to get welfare and unemployment but youre too good for walmart?

Whats wrong with collecting unemployment? You pay for it, why not use it when you need it? Most people would make more on unemployment than taking a 6.50/hour job, plus you are probably more likely to find a job in your field when you can take all your energy and focus it on finding a job instead of having to worry about your job at walmart. Sure, when your unemployment runs out and you still haven't found your job, then take the Walmart job. But I don't think theres anything wrong with collecting unemployment when you need it.

OP, of course retail stores like Target and Walmart are always going to be stable jobs. Take a second and think about it. Sure, people are making less money and shopping less, but they are still going to do their grocery shopping and purchasing things most necessities at walmart. Sure the electronics sales, or other big ticket items might stall a bit, but until people start making their own soap and knitting their own clothes, stores like that are going to be just fine.

Said very well thats how i feel . I wana work but i cant find work im tryin but i have the option to get unemplyment and i should try to see if i can get it. i got a few things in the mail sat and after goin threw all the bs i still have to wait. I think so many people dont understand how things work its easy to say people are lazy or they cuz all the bad things to happen to them selfs.

Assuming your profile is correct, at age 19 that is the typical way of thinking. But let's say you are a highly educated (Bachelor's degree, Master's, etc) person that made 80k-150k a year and you suddenly lost your job. You have a family to feed, a certain lifestyle you are accustomed to, car payment, mortgage payment, etc... You can't afford that stuff on 7 bucks an hour. Why would you risk losing everything youve worked so hard to get just because you lost your job?

You do realize that unemployment is a service, a service that you pay for. If you get into a car accident would you just work some extra overtime or get another job to pay to fix your car? No, you would file your insurance claim and get your money. Why, because you pay for it and thats what its for. Unemployment is the same concept.
