Alright so im tweaking my Resume and im trying to say that i have experiance in Microsoft Server 2003 but i wanna go a lil in depth with it saying ive worked with

  • Application Server
  • Sequel Server
  • Web Server
  • Active Directory
  • Cluster Administration
  • File Server
  • DHCP
  • DNS
  • and others

How do you think i can numb it down a bit too one Sentence and still include all those. I wanted to be careful on how i write everything out

I looked on some Network Admin's Resumes online but they all look ghey and im trying to fit my resume all on 1 page..

If you are trying to be a Network Admin then I really dont think you need DHCP, DNS and Active Directory listed on there, they are all a part of administering a network... I'm sure there are other I should be mentioning but I just woke up and I'm not awake yet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

yeah all of that is kinda of a given. Unless the resume your trying to do is being looked at by some sort of automated resume reader software that HR's use. then you want to add all those kinda key words to trigger their points system off of.

I've never heard of one of those... silly me! In my resume I have a "specialized skills" section where I just put down what skills I have that pertain to the specific job I am applying for... in there is where I would put the stuff you are considering putting in your resume, plus it will be in paragraph form not bullet and save page space //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Well some of the places i will be applying for there is no IT support at all so it will just be a HR rep looking at the Resume and DHCP and Act Direct would be a big part. They arn't going to know that its under 2003 server and a gimme.

I was going to do more of a technical resume but I decided just to leave it more of a formal resume.

The question basically was how do i convert the bullets into one sentence //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

The Resume as of right now is compacted down to 1 page and 1 page only i don't want them to take 10 min to read my freaking resume they will just throw it out

as is cluster admin under sql

Not too hard...

"... extensive experience in administering Microsoft Windows Server 2003, many core services including SQL Server, IIS Server, Directory Services and security surrounding these applications...."

Make sure you mention the security aspect as it adds weight to your statement and seems to be a good buzzword as of late..
