any ipod experts out there?

anyone know of any reputable program that will let you transfer music from an ipod to a computer when the music is not stored as a file on the ipods hd? or is it physically impossible? last time i checked you couldnt, but i was wondering if some braniac come up with a way?

I have been wanting to do this to since I changed HDs since I got my iPod. I have heard that you have to have the software installed on your PC and iPod before you can transfer. Thats just here say tho...

i used the anapod one a looong time ago 1st gen ipod long style worked fine

not yet, but getting ready to try it. i got a copy of iPodRip a while back, and it did what i stated above. Hopefully 1 of the 2 list above will work.
