so basically im gonna be installing my friends system he just picked up, 3 soundstream tarantula 12"s ran off a mtx amp (not sure of model # havent seen it yet). im gonna be running 1/0 and would like to avoid drilling thru the firewall if at all possible.

its a 01 Escalade so i imagine its the same layout as the tahoe/suburban/yukons. is there any unesed bushings to run 1/0 thru? not sure what side battery is on but i plan on runnin the power wire along the same side to keep the run as short as possible.

any help/tips is greatly apprecaited as im trying to study up on his truck 1st.

grommet(sp) near the area of the brake master cylinder on drivers side. Also If he gets to the point that he neads a second battery can go to gm dealer and get second battery tray for passenger side near firewall from a diesel truck like a sierra or something. Second battery mounts up nice under hood. The factory alternator on that truck will be close to being tapped out as far as capacity because of all the accesories. Do big 3 with some decent cable and that will cut down on some of the dimming and shit. Stock battery will be on drivers side behind drivers side headlight.

is that alternator easy to get to? might as well do that at the same time. im planning on doing mine because its sooo easy on a crown vic/marquis but i havent had any dimming issues whatsoever. i know to fuse the ALT ---> + BAT, is 1 fuse enough or should i do 2 (1 6" from bat+, 1 6" from alt) will 200 amp fuses be okay? the best wire the local shop sells is kicker hyperflex 0ga, will that be good enough? i know most people on here dont care for kicker stuff (subs mainly)

EDIT found a pic of the motor looks easy enough. beats last weekends project: my intake manifold gaskets on my 4.6,

I like the Kicker wire. How much they charge a foot for the hyperflex?

****in 10.00 a foot, hes buyin the 1/0 kicker kit so hopefully there will be enough left for most of the big 3, but if he has to buy some by the foot, hes got money out the *** anyways.

he also wants me to re-do his box in beige instead of black, any good links for decent fabric? and thanks for the help denali.

Maybe partsexpress.com for fabric, and 10 dollars a foot is high as hell for that kicker wire. I can get it at 5, and I try to talk them down off of that price. You are better off going on ebay and buying one of those 1/0 kicker kits or buying by the foot from knukoncepts.com. You'll see your hundred plus bucks go a longer way.

The stock alt on that vehicle should be between 130-140 and I don't have a fuse on my charge wire (not a bad idea). I think a 200 amp should be okay, just protecting that wire from a short.
