Any GOOD portable CD players?

My head unit is awesome 90% of the time, and the other 10% is when I wish it had a CD player. In this digital age, my iPod contains all the music I want, but..... there are times when I wish I could just play a regular old CD and get that CD quality, rather than searching for the lossless files on the internet or loading my CDs again and taking insane amounts of storage up on my iPod.

So my question -- does anyone know of a good portable CD player? I don't know if there is such a thing, but if there was one with a USB out, that would be ideal. If not, 3.5mm jack can be used.

The more audiophile-oriented the better.

There are some old school ones that are highly sought after... and very expensive if you can find them. I had an older Sony when I was into headphones, but I can't remember which model number... D-something maybe... was supposed to be one of the best ever made... Google will tell you which ones are the good ones though.

I honestly don't think there is anything new that is exceptional, it was years ago when I was into headphones and the portable stuff and I still had to pay a premium price on ebay for a used unit to get quality.

That said, if your CD needs are just now and then, you might be just fine with something being manufactured today.
