download steam from http://steampowered.com ... make an account.. then download source or 1.6 for 20 dollars by paying with a credit card.. or if u wanna get cheap find a buddy who doesn't mind sharing his account with you.. ask him for his account name and password and youll be able to play whatevr games he has activated on his account.. but you both wont be able to play at the same time.

or if you have the balls: go to the store and open a half-life 2 box and write down the CD key and close the box and put it back lol.. go home and punch cd key into steam and you can download CS:S

Glad to see this back up, I just ordered my comp parts last night so I can start to play some games besides age of empires 1 and red alert 2 lol. I play americas army and COD2 but my fps isnt the best. I am able to play and do alright but I thought it was time for a good machine.

I just got the amd athlon 3800+, asus mob, some new case and a bfg 7900gtoc for video and I am using my ram and stuff from this comp for that once it arrives. Hope I can get in some games with everyone I am looking to try some new ones.

Counter-strike is 1.6. 1.6 was the updated version of counter-strike.

I would watch out getting the card from BFG the 7900GT is having some major issues and evga has the best RMA policy when you get the card install 3dmark06 and loop the deep freeze test and if its one of the bad cards its gonna go hay wire. I should now Iv been thru 3 7900GTs so far (one 7900gt vanilla one ko superclocked and my current signature series all Evga) The first one I took 2nd place in the world 3dmark06 for 7900gt single card (did have first till an yonah overclocked to hell took me out by 100pts)
