Any difference in the 2005, 2006 and 2007 XXX's?

Seems like if you look in the archives threads refer back to different years like something is different. Is one better than the other or had a design change?

What is a excellent shape used 2005 worth?

oldest ones had a 4-6 spoke basket and a **** cone, these were the first ones, next came the inverted dustcaps and the more traditional 12 spoke basket. The current XXX is based off a totally different motor, basket, everything about it is different then the previous models.

ive got an 05 12" xxx, i heard an 06 xxx and it was pretty loud too and sounded good, but i dont think its worth the price tag. i paid 200 for my xxx, but theres a crack in the cone, but it doesnt affect performance at all, yet. when it needs a recone is when ill pay for one and recone it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

and i think the years are 04, 05, and 06, i dont think theres an 07 model.

correct,

the 06 is better in all ways then the previus 2, the 04 and 05 are pretty much the same sounding, although i have seensome of the older ones with a little bit different of a motor then the 05s.

The 04 and 05 models are different than the current 06 model. I haven't heard anything about an 07 model, I assume its the same as 06.

The 04-05 models did have a different cone, starting with the now famous '****' cone, and eventually moving to the concave dustcap cone you see more commonly. Other than that, they were basically the same.

I have an '05 XXX 15, and love it. I've heard an '06, actually off the same amp, and close to same sized box, and it was just a tad louder by ear.

I would just recommend buying a '05 model unless you are gonna feed it max wattage, and want all you can out of a sub. The new ones are soooo expensive, its almost not even worth it. I've hit 145 (tl), and only put 1600 watts to it so far.

A used '05 will run anywhere from $250-$400, I'm guessing. Keep checking ebay............I got mine off ebay, w/ a small hole in the cover, but works like new, for $265 shipped!!!!! Just wait a short while, and the right deal will come for you.

Man, I just cant see paying over $1000 for ANY sub......unless you have tons of money to blow.
