any computer engineer/science majors here?

Yea im looking at computer engineering as well but dont know any body who actually does it and would like a few ideas as to what they do day to day.

I'm majoring in computer engineering. They have a huge versatility of job options from working for a corporations monitoring networks to designing circuitry. Lots of options.

is it hard? lol

Im majoring in computer science at the university of oklahoma. If you've got any questions let me know.
how do u like it?

I'm doing Computer Science, definitely a strong major with good potential. I would go into it if your comfortable with Math. I can't really compare it to any other major to tell you whether its hard or not. I will tell you this though, you can't bullshit your way through many classes like in other majors because the course material is pretty clear cut and so are the assignments. Computers don't lie and neither does your source code.

Im a big fan of the CS program at OU. Like what hundreth said, you can't really bullshit any of the CS classes. The majority of my work is done outside of classes and is hand graded.

As for the math aspect, I have to have alot of it. Although I'm just finishing up my sophmore year I am really enjoying it. It's interesting to me, but at times it can be monotanous. I don't know, I guess its one of those things you either get or you dont.

If you're thinking about majoring it, I would go ahead and take the intro class offered at your university. Probably something along the lines of intro to java or into to c++ or something of the sort. About halfway through the semester you'll know if you enjoy it or not.

Just my 2 cents.

I'll be in my fourth year of the CIS program here at my school. I like it alot, but then again I like programming. Computer engineering is a really hard degree... you'll deal alot with electronics, programming, etc... and lots of math!

As stated about take a intro programming class... not something like VB. Java or C++ are both good core languages to learn.
