how come when im lying down on the floor face down and i have farts that smell like rotten eggs dipped in melted cheese and cream soda..that when i release a fart, within a 2 second time period it clings to the floor and somehow someway reaches my nose?

aren't farts lighter than air and should float? and how the **** does it reach my nose if my fart travels backwards away from my ***?

i think if we can find out the answer to this im sure the point of life will slowly shed itself to us

very entertaining video

however it still doesn't answer me my question. i put it on my life that i dont move a fraction of an inch yet within 2 seconds i smell a fart. this is an enclosed room with no drafts or anything. even with a draft i shouldnt be able to smell it that quickly.

How in the hell did you figure this out? Do I want to know?
because im laying here at the computer, which is on the floor (i have nothing in my apartment currently. no seats no nothing except this computer haha)...and i farted 3 times...and it happened all 3 times.

pensacol: well that video doesnt mimic my situation. sure if im running around and shit, but im laying here not moving a single inch and it just wafts to my nose likes its nothing.

its chemistry. Our noses are very very very sensitive to one of the substances that farts contain and its somthin like we can detect a few parts per billion. Its not thats its moving far but we can detect the smallest of small amounts.

The olfactory components of flatulence include skatole, indole, and sulfurous compounds.

one or more of those chemicals we can detect because it has to do with our survival and staying away from shit that could kill us from disease
