This past weekend, I had ordered the CDT HD-62CF from thezeb.com (at that time, it was still listed on their website). I received this e-mail Tuesday (It’s been a busy week… just found this today):
Here are the specs for the HD-62CF, taken from CDT’s website.
So I’m not quite sure how to proceed. I paid $200 for the set (plus a Pioneer DEH-7500MP in that same order, which I’m assuming is being held until a response is given by me). Is there another set on their site for about the same amount, which is just as good/better? How do the EF’s compare to the CF’s? To the CL-61’s? Should I take their offer and ask them to bump my head unit up to a Pioneer DEH-P8500MP //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Again, I’m not quite sure how to proceed here, and would appreciate any input.
Hello Virginia,Thanks for your recent order. Unfortunately we have sold out of the HD-62CF. We do not have a estimated date as to when this item will be in stock. We would like to offer a free upgrade to the HD-62EF. Your credit card has already been charged for your order. Please reply to this email and let us know how to proceed with your order. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

So yea… unless there is some great benefit of the EF’s that isn’t reflected in its price, power handling and sensitivity, I’m not really looking to be “upgraded for free" to a component set that costs $70 less MSRP. In fact, they are the same price (MSRP-wise) as the CL-61’s. Judging solely on price, I cannot see where a “free upgrade” would be fair to me.System price: $299.99
