amps and sub help

First things first. No you can not hook two seperate amps together to power the same sub.

What type of amps are they and how many channels?

Are the amps brideable

Are they stable at 2 or 4 Ohms, or both?

How many Ohms is the speaker?

Something to remember just because the speaker says 300 watts dose not mean that you need to put 300 wats to it to make it hit hard and have awsome sound quality.

the two amps i have are 1by 2 channel 100 watt and onea four channel 160watts unfortunately i dont know the names of them as they were in the car when i got it as for them being bridgeable i dont know but ive bridged the 160 w one to run the sub but i will go and check them out now and i will reply again thanx jon

here are the names of the amps and other info:the 1 by4 160w is a radio mobile amp and its stable at 2ohms the other one is a long mill amp and is 4 ohms the sub is a 4ohm please advise thank you

the problem is your amp is atable at 2 ohms but your sub is not. putting a 2 Ohm load on a 4 Ohm speaker can destroy the voice coil QUICKLY!!!

My suggestion would be to bridge the 4 ohm amp and let the good times roll!!!

Let me know how it works out

Go to you local car audio dealer and pick up a cross- over. There is a little instalation required but it is real easy.

I don't know if they still make them but MTX used to make a real good cross over for about $100.
