I have us amps ax2000 that's been running quite warm..... I mean hot to the touch, but it's never gone into thermal protect. Being a class a/b amp I assumed it was normal. Well the other day I heard the bass line cut out for a second and I pulled over to investigate. The amplifier protect light never came on, even if I turned the music up and made the bass cut out. It's not getting as warm as it once was, and the other day soon after playing music lightly one end of the amp warm and the other was not. Today it's warming up evenly but the volume has been reduced dramatically. It's been on a 200a alternator with 2 agm batteries since it's been installed besides going through a faulty 180a alternator that was replaced as soon as I noticed a voltage drop. It's got 11ft of 0 gauge wire with a 200a fuse hooked straight up to the rear battery with soldered connections. I've really enjoyed the amplifier and would love to be able to have it repaired and possibly upgraded if something was wrong with it. I'm gonna take it off the amp rack tomorrow and look through the plexiglass and see if anything looks burnt. I'm honestly hoping some of the solder got too hot and isn't making good connection and can be easily fixed. Any tips, things to look for, questions, suggestions? Know anyone ridiculously good with class a/b amps that has experience with tube amps? I've got a us amps tube amp on the highs as well, if I send one off for repair / upgrades I may as well send both. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
