For some odd reason after i cook my coils and smell them a bit i will smell it on and off throughout the day. Most recently it's from a pair of hds312's which have a distinct smell of fish to me.. Maybe i'm just a weirdo

This has also happened with a pair of jbls which had their own distinct smell to them. Now idk if i'm trippen or if i'm the only one who smells their coils randomly outside of your car but this **** *****.

Maybe I burned my brain cuz i get so mad when i smell the coils lmfao

Tldr i know how hallucinating is spelled

welcome to the world of car audio where you spend shitloads of money and get severe diminishing returns lol. Yeah man if your car does not get loud then it will have a hard time getting louder. I had the worst trouble with my corolla trunk setup on 2k, put the same system in a hatchback or a solid built luxury car like a bmw, and that sh*t took off man. try playing with the box positioning and how far/close from the trunk, fold your rear seats down and deaden your car. fire to the back, fire up, fire cabin and sealing it off from the trunk try everything man.

This needs to move to general car audio.
that said, sounds like you need more/better subs and another amp or more wattage from a diff amp.
he's got 2 soundqubed hds312s on a soundqubed 2200.1 two group 31s, big 3 done and in a moderate-to-small trunk i'm guessing?

It should at least be hitting decently hard compared to his old setup.

agreed with the moved to general car audio part. Spider monkey will rip him a new one.

He might be "too used to it" then.

Like I said..more subs, more amps. Different strokes for different folks.

my bad for being out of topic, the main reason of this post was to see if anyone else smells voice coils throughout the day even when your chillen out not even in your car xD

i'm not gonna post anymore about my system on this thread because it's off topic

1: The smell might just be stuck in your nose(mentailly), the smell of coils can very traumatizing.

2: You really cooked them good, even if they work, you'll need a long time for the smell to wear off.

just hope for you that its the first situation.

lol it's very very traumatizing.

the smell is gone in the car now until i clip again

If I'm driving and someone is burning something or there is a car in front of me that smells funny it scares the **** out of me and I think its my subs or amp... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
