Wouldn't a metal port produce a "ring"? Just wondering.
I'm sure if it did, you could easily remedy it with some deadener though.

I don't know about metal ports, never used one, I know that metal horn bodies like the big Altecs sometimes have a ring because of the supporting chines in the flare...but filling it with RTV and deadening the horn mouth takes care of any resonance issue...

Ya, I figured adding mass would resolve any issues if there was some.

I never had an issue when I had the box, I had a mofo in there on a power acoustik 2400d. The amp was clearly not stable at 1 ohm as it would go into protect instantly so I had to run it at 4 ohms. It never got super loud so I couldnt say there was a ring or not
